We found Emmy via an interior architect and asked her to help us style our new house, a free-standing villa in Amsterdam. She right away got a good feeling about our style preferences and developed professional plans early on, before the move, so we could already order furniture etc. She also made detailed plans for every room so we could decide which furniture to take with us and which one to leave behind.
I really appreciated that she took us to stores where you wouldn’t normally be able to shop (as a private customer), and we selected everything in a very efficient yet fun way, and leaving room for chance and spontaneous decisions. She also managed the work of a carpenter for us who built a wonderful cupboard for the entrance and modify a staircase that had a strange look initially, to make it all look very modern and coherent.
We really liked how she combined different colours that you wouldn’t expect to go well together at first sight, and using them in pillows, lamps, carpets etc. She also made sure all the curtains in all the (bed)rooms matched the wall papers we selected and that they were hung in the correct way. We also very much appreciated Emmy’s straightfoward way of communication and transparent invoicing, even securing us discounts from some of the furniture suppliers.
Once our new garden was ready, she also advised us on the garden furniture, matching the colours used inside the house, which helps to give it a perfect total picture. We can unreservedly recommend Emmy and her services.
